the london coffee festival

a few weeks ago now, i headed out east for the london coffee festival.

here, in no particular order, are a load of snapshots from the time i spent there.

1
these are some of the judges at the barista championships.
i doubt they had much sleep that night.

2
like a magpie, i was attracted to all the bright shiny things on display

3
er... some stickers

4
keep cups were representing in a big way at the london coffee festival.

27

28
oh dear... my next flat white

29
a genius at work

30
and here preparing his signature drink

31
wait for it...

32
it was round about now that the barista informed the judges that his
signature drink "is all about two visits to the cup"

33
the visits to the coffee cup were interspersed with a sip of freshly squeezed grapefruit
juice and also, well i don't want to give too much away but let me just say that
star anise was mentioned...

34
after milking the applause ( leave it ) the barista was interviewed.
i must say he was top man.

35
the essentials for making two visits to the cup

36
personally, i made one more visit to a familiar cup... a takeaway flat white.

but by now i had the right old 'hattie jacques' so i fled the london coffee festival
and headed over to 1948 with two mates.

it was a great way to spend a friday afternoon.
