snapshots and observations

on saturday i...

on saturday i noted from the top deck of a 17 bus
that the flowers have been put in position on holloway road.
here comes the summer.

near kings cross i looked out of the bus window and saw this
this needed no cropping or anything, it was just there.

a new coffee joint near the 17 bus stop
i wasn't keen on the logo but it looked like a nice enough addition to the scene.
free wi-fi is always welcome and it looked like a very clean little place.

unfortunately for coffee to go, i was staying on the 17 until high holborn.
where i had this cracking flat white at the department of coffee and social affairs.

i also had a slice of lemon drizzle cake which was as zesty as...
... er, it was very lemon-y anyway.

it's almost worth having a closer look
on the whitfield lemon drizzle cake scale, this was up there with the best.

on the way to the west end i walked past wild and wood.
feeling a little bit guilty for having my head turned by the department of coffee.
poor wild and wood... it was empty.
it's strange, i love wild and wood. i think it's one of the best designed places in town.
a real one off, run by friendly people and i think it deserves my custom, but...
i don't know why, but to me it seems like a wintery place. the type of coffee
shop that you go to and snuggle up in a corner with a hot drink and shelter
from the cold. it just doesn't seem like a summer place...
do you know what i mean ?

in liberty later on i saw this...
i know this isn't much of a photo but it was kind of cute at the time
a man and woman wearing matching emerald green shoes... suede i think.
can you guess which country they come from ?

on the way back to n7 i took a detour into regents park to do some sneezing
and to observe the squirrels.
mrs w didn't care much for this little chap but i thought he was quite entertaining.

i wasn't impressed with his diet though
he shunned my offer of a piece of twix and instead accepted a carrot from
a french person.
what a liberty !
