ok let's wrap up this spanish train journey thing.
here are a few snapshots from the 3 day train trip.
this was in a cave. it's some lad with a big old saw. i think the story was that he tried
sawing a bloke's leg off for 9 hours but he couldn't do it.
maybe it was jesus, or a saint or something... i wasn't listening to be honest.
look at these lads
oh i get it... the top drawing, i thought the bloke was blowing a chewing gum
bubble but he's not... he's being stoned isn't he ?
in the picture at the bottom there is definitely something going on regarding
the main man's mince pies.
you know why i took this photo don't you ?
of course
but no matter how hard i tried to make it look like i was high up on a rock...
it just wasn't working for me.
hmmm...
nope.
much as i like the city of leon. it is home to probably the worst street art
i've ever seen.
ever !
in fairness though, they were embracing the soon to be royal wedding
you beauty !
and in leon you get free tapas in most places.
with my coffee here, i was given a couple of bonus sponge cakes.
i think this was taken at... no, i've forgotten... it could have been anywhere.
let's face it, i do this shot probably ten or more times each day... no seriously, i do.
this was in a little cafe in the middle of nowhere, but on the old santiago
de compostela trail
the old guy was reading about the shameful behaviour of real madrid
who had bean beaten at home by barcelona a night or two earlier.
more shoddy spanish sign writing
look how wide the letter 'i' is compared with the thickness of the other letters.
and yet more spanish posing
i was a little ashamed when i saw this as i didn't know my top was so see through.
still, at least it was only a bape 12 year anniversary t-shirt and not something offensive.
the last three pics from the trip need to be in black and white.
they are from a little stop off we did at a famous basque beret factory.
the factory closed in 1992 after 100 years.
most of the machinery was supplied by the good old northern firm...
platt brothers, from oldham.
it was quite an eerie sight, the factory was pretty much as it had been left
on it's final day of production.
it looked like you could just flick all the switches on and start making berets.
i think this is a spinning jenny... but i could be wrong.
anyway, it was a top place to have a tour around and afterwards we were
treated to a traditional basque workers stew ( all meat and beans... no veg )
i'm kind of sorry i didn't buy a beret though.
