meeting up with old friends

yesterday i met up with two old friends...

firstly in the dog and duck in frith street, i bumped into timothy taylor's landlord.

the landlord was on fine form, as was that well known time-traveller...

gerry !

this was in the coal hole next to the savoy, where gerry entertained me with stories of
richard harris, mick jagger, michael caine, britt ekland, and of course... sellers.

after the dog and duck and the coal hole, we stopped off for a pint at the
bucket of blood and we decided it was time to eat...

i asked the landlady for a lincolnshire whirl, which was not a euphanism
but a very tasty sausage, served with mash potato, gravy and
onion rings in timothy taylor's landlord beer batter.

we then took a stroll down fleet street which is where gerry came into his
element. he took me to the express pub, the telegraph pub, the printers pub
and told me all sorts of tales from 'the good old days'

this was our view in the bell tavern

stories and pints were flowing quickly and gerry took me to the observer pub
the mail pub, to the original northcliffe house, to an old cock fighting pub...
with fantastic stories in each. all in all it was quite a day out.

we ended up in holborn having a wagyu beefburger and drinking water.
with a thick head... a thick head full of amazing stories... i got on the 91 bus
and headed home.

thanks gerry. you're a legend.

home alone 2

no after eights this morning. just a double espresso at home

then off to the millennium cafe where i opted for two poached eggs on
brown toast, with bacon.

i washed it down with a coffee and also a few prednisolone and nifedipine

magic darts !

blue fin

just over the road from the table ( where i breakfasted last saturday )
is the blue fin building.
i took this shot of it from where my car was parked.

it reminded me of the last time i saw a load of blue fins lined up...

in tokyo last november.

hold the front page !

a few years ago i did a shoot for ok! magazine in liverpool.

it was with two actresses from brookside.
suzanne collins and jennifer ellison.
a day or two before the magazine came out, the daily star did
a preview of the shoot...

not the classiest of newspapers, but i was still very happy to have my
photo and my credit on the front page.

here's a better version of the pic...

home alone

i'm home alone for a few days as jackie has gone to france
with her ugly sisters.

time to get back on the marky diet.

first up, i think it's important to start the day with a healthy breakfast
so today i had this...

a double espresso and seven after eight mints.

standard.

tallulah lingerie

i've been doing some photography for my friend nicola this week.
she owns a lingerie boutique in islington, called tallulah.

the latest things i've been photographing for her website are
sets for brides to be...

also knickers which customers can have embroidered with their new name,
eg. 'mrs whitfield', or maybe 'just married', or 'the mrs'

i also wanted to do some shots of nicola for her website but unfortunately
today she was dressed like a spanish man.
so we'll have to do them another day.

stamps

i received a package from hong kong a couple of years ago.
( it was a pair of trainers of course )
the seller had absolutely coverered the whole parcel in stamps.
i kept part of the wrapping as it looked too nice to throw away.
green wrapping paper covered in lots and lots of little stamps.

good effort.
