the king of limbs

i do like a bit of radiohead, and i do like a bit of stanley donwood.

a couple of months ago i ordered radiohead's new album 'the king of limbs'
and it turned up at whitfield towers last week.
naturally enough i ordered the limited edition 'newspaper'version which came with
a few bonus items.

the whole package arrived in a biodegradable plastic bag.

and here's what was inside the bag
stanley donwood said that he wanted the whole package to be like a
sunday newspaper, you know how they come sometimes in a plastic bag
with all sorts of extra rubbishy bits.

there's a special newspaper, which is printed in the us format
which folds over neatly to the size of a 12 inch album cover

the newspaper is full of new work by stanley donwood
which would be very frame worthy if it was on better paper.

oh that's just dynamite ! the whole album on two 10 inch clear vinyl discs
and you know i haven't got a turntable. grrr !

'ere... that's handy 'arry
a cd of the album too.

and some other piece of perforated blotting paper art / nonsense

you can read an interview stanley donwood did with creative review here:

it explains it a lot better than me... but i prefer my photos !
