qpr v man utd

on sunday i was invited to the qpr v man utd game by my friend elvis.

i took the tube to shepherd's bush and then followed the signs
i like shepherd's bush. it reminds me a lot of n7. it seems to have a similar style.

i wasn't just invited to watch the game, i was invited to the w12 club
which was a bit like being given 1st class vip treatment, then forced to watch qpr.

we were given a tour through the players changing rooms, where i
spotted wayne rooney's pre-match snack waiting for him.
but seriously, top notch pies at the w12 club.
in fact everything about the w12 club was top notch...
( apart from the fact that they don't allow training shoes )

the company was excellent
( don't ask )

the seats were spot-on
even though they hadn't spelled my name correctly.

this is the only photo i have from the game where qpr were holding
their own against man utd.
yes, at this point qpr were looking pretty good and well worth a draw.

elvis was also holding his own...
and i think he was looking forward to qpr starting the game well.

52 seconds after kick-off, it was 1-0 to man utd
showing little regard for his expensive hair. rooney glanced in a cracking
header from a valencia cross and that was that.

and wellbeck must score !
i thought danny wellbeck was going to make it 2-0 after only 2 minutes
but it wasn't to be. if only wellbeck was as good at finishing off slick moves
as we were at finishing off red wine in the w12 club it would have been
a hammering for the hoops.

as it happened, it took a second half goal from carrick to settle the game.

it was a decent match and 3 points in the bag, but my main memory is of the
excellent company, food, drink and old jokes in the w12 club.

thanks a lot elvis. merry christmas !
