as i mentioned the other day, my madre was down in london over the weekend.
obviously i wasn't about to let her stay at whitfield towers so i booked the aged relative into the zetter hotel in nearby clerkenwell.
her room wasn't ready when we tried to check in, so the concierge showed us to the lounge where they offered us complimentary drinks. i opted for a latte...
good effort so far by the zetter.
i was most impressed by the room they gave to my madre, and i noted a sweet place for a self-portrait...
boom !
after getting her settled, we went down to the restaurant for a meal.
you can read a review of the restaurant here:
and also admire the photo of the interior... which was taken by me.
we looked down from the third floor to the lounge, where we spotted mrs w and jess
before leaving at the end of the night, i helped myself to a coffee from the machine in the lobby. i put a double espresso shot in first, then a latte on top, but i pulled the mug away from the milk towards the end in an attempt to make a really strong latte.
it was the touch of a genius... albeit a genius who found it quite difficult to sleep that night.
in the morning i drove over to pick up my madre from the zetter. i looked up towards her room when i'd parked up and oh no !
had she really been standing there all night with her arm trapped in the window ?
before going up to rescue her, i stopped in the zetter cafe for a cheeky latte
but i didn't really enjoy it as i kept chuckling to myself about the thought of her being stuck with her arm trapped in the window overnight.
what ?
