new pose in devon

while i was in devon i was forced into trying out a new pose for my self-portrait.
i had to adopt this pose as there were a lot of staff behind me in the open kitchen.
i didn't want them to think i was so vain as to take a photo of myself, so i tried to make it seem as if i was standing there looking at my camera, perhaps puzzling over some technicality.

i'll be honest with you, i don't really like this pose.

the restaurant specialises in vegetables ! ( i know... what a shocker )
my views on vegetables have been well documented, but in the interests of posting a blog exclusive, at the end of the shoot i set up a shot of me standing very close to some of the filthy items. the orange things are carrots, perhaps my least favourite vegetable of all time.
i've no idea what the green things are, but they are green.
i kind of like this shot. i think it comes across that i'm a little bit uneasy being so close to the wretched vegetables. i seem a little vulnerable perhaps. i think that carrots are possibly my
'kryptonite' and being close to them has rendered me unable to frown.

normal pose and facial expression will return next time.
