original pointman ?

in the british museum on saturday i spotted this little chap

at first i thought it was a wooden version of jack frost but then i realised 

what it reminded me of...

futura 2000's pointman

i think you need to see a better pic of a pointman because the hands are very similar.

shame you can't see them very well in this photo of mine.
