holiday snapshots

when i was a nipper, we used to holiday in torquay every year.
earlier this year i was sent to torquay on a shoot.
i was a little bit early so i went for a walk along the promenade, where i took this.
i guess it could be any seaside photo, but to me this sums up torquay.

of course, possibly the finest holiday destination in the world is...

wales.
i took this in god's own country a couple of years ago using an old film camera.
i love the welsh language, it's the language of heaven.
( i wonder if they make a welsh version of scrabble by the way ? )

on holiday in malaysia last year i took this photo
of a gang member who was terrorising the neighbourhood.

in thailand a couple of years ago ( before i started my boycott )
i noted a local speciality on the menu in starbucks
in fairness, it was pretty good.

also in thailand i did a bit of bird spotting...
this little fellow reminded me of when gymnasts do that thing on the
floor with a long old piece of ribbon

i like that this bird seems to be looking at me through a gap in the leaves that is exactly
the same shape as his head.
he had a very nice voice by the way.

of course not all the birds in thailand have such sweet voices...
boom !
