on my coffee table this week...

most weeks i try to show you what's on my coffee table.
but do you remember when i first took delivery of my coffee table ?

it's a real beauty. it looks great, a real nice shape and style. it's heavy mind,
made out of some serious metal. it's also the perfect height for cracking your shins against.

the bloke who designed the coffee table is getting married on saturday so this week's
nonsense is dedicated to magnus... and juliana.

here's the selection this week...
hmmm...

dvd: evil roy slade
admit it, you've never heard of this film have you ?

i saw it years ago and it had me in stitches. just snagged it off ebay this week for £5
i wonder if it will make me laugh again ? if you haven't seen it already and you can find it
on the cheap... i reckon you should take a punt on it.

cd: amelie by yann tiersen
i know this is an old cd, but i would have to say that this and air's first album
are the cds that get played the most here at whitfield towers.
the soundtrack to the film 'amelie' works at all times of the day.
either buy it or revisit it. 10/10

book: the doubtful guest by edward gorey
every home should have this little book.
beautiful illustrations and a funny, sad, haunting story.
do you like the doubtful guest's kicks by the way ?
they look like converse all-stars to me !

  1. Amelie appeared to be everything Yann Yiersen had. I got further work by him on the back of this soundtrack...average stuff sadly. I also noticed you had Orbit's album not too long ago. There is a part 2 released this last month which has a few gems on also.
