my first impresssion of porto was that they make their sandwiches way too sharp.
my second impression was that they are mad keen on stencil-type street art.
i must say that a lot of it was not that great, but then again compared to leon
it was like taking a stroll through banksy's greatest hits.
one particular piece which i did like was this...
it looks like an origami dove, or maybe a swan.
the thing i liked best about it was that it was numbered.
i saw hundreds of these over the weekend, all over the city, and each one was numbered.
limited edition street-art... genius !
porto was on top of it's coffee game
and price-wise it was a dream. double espresso for 50p or 50 cents or whatever those
bits of euros are called.
retro-style spectacle shop
which was called 'the house of spectacles'
mcdonalds was representing in the city centre
albeit a sinister 'imperial' mcdonalds.
i saw an exhibition about halley's comet
i didn't really understand this though. i guess it's an old newspaper front page.
if you double click on it you can see that the chap is using a rolled up financial
report, or financial newspaper to view the comet. it also appears that the comet is a little
wary of the cat's arse.
any portuguese speakers out there to translate ?
any cat lovers out there to explain ?
my final observation for now is a poster i saw in a shop window
now i don't really have any insect problems at whitfield towers...
but if i do, i'm certainly entrusting their removal to this brand.
the message is clear... 'death to insects'
fair enough.
