bbq footwear

yes this isn't much of a post,
yes i'm playing catch-up with my blog to get back on track

( one post per day... them's the rules ! )

a footwear / sock game shot i took at a foot patrol x converse bbq
last week in ( grrr ! ) south london

how rude of me to wear nike to a converse sponsored event.

i think i was brought up badly.

final pics i promise

oops, i just found what will be the last pics of robocat, i promise.

the previous efforts were phone pics. these are from my gx1

so this is from when we did the shoot together. i think it was last wednesday.
in a shock move she had some sort of trainers on.

in a non-shock move, so did i.

lucky...

no idea what's going on, but sometimes i like pics when the subject isn't looking
at the camera.

we were just about to do a shot of our shoe battle when her dress blew up in a gust of wind.

ever the gentleman, i tried to take a photo... but i was too slow.

what ? don't judge me !

and finally...
one last chance for me to say
"i'm the one on the right"

bye bye robocat

i took a photo of myself last thursday, standing in front of a photo at an exhibition.
hmmm...

chance meeting with robocat

the day after my last shoot with robocat i was in a meeting in town
when she sent me a photo message of her eating a hotdog and drinking champagne.

i realised she was at a place called bubble dogs which was seriously a two minute walk from
the coffee shop i was in so i asked her to swing over and meet my friend.

after exchanging pleasantries i took this photo of the three of us
i'll leave you to figure out which one is my mate keith and which one is robocat.

i decided to take a last phone portrait of her
she was full of herself having just bought an "awesome" new cap

it cracked me up a little because of it having the word "lucky" on it
napoleon dynamite... right ?

after a couple of minutes cracking about in the heat we retired to a pub
where i bought her one final pint.

then we posed for one final photo together.
london will be a little bit poorer for her leaving.

she was quite a character.

she flew back to china the next day.

bye bye robocat

world cup 'moments'

i saw these illustrations the other day.

memories from the world cup in brazil

the player who the crowd near me at arsenal used to call 'the rapist'
scoring v spain.

my favourite player from the world cup
( apart from dos santos, vidal and alexis )
scoring against uruguay

that german bloke scoring the goal that won the world cup final

everybody's favourite pantomime dame.

arjen robben taking a dive against mexico

world renowned racist, goalscorer and serial biter luis suarez
tucking into an italian shortly before taking a break from football.

as my assistant alan used to say.

and my assistant g-fog still says...

i hate south london.

and guess what ? i had two shoots there last week.

still, i kept my happy face on.

throwback thursday

back in the day things were going pretty well for myself and natalie imbruglia.

she used to tell me that i was warm and that when i came around to see her, that i was dignified.

after a while though, things went sour and she told me she didn't know me anymore,
also something about her inspiration running dry...

so we split up.

still, as long as she didn't write a song about us, i don't care.

what ?

wednesday week

on wednesday i had a shoot in stokey

the place i was supposed to photograph wasn't ready for me at the arranged
time so myself and robocat went off for a coffee and a cake.

here we are
the lady who took the photo said "smile"
let's be honest, that was never going to happen.

this is what we had. well she had a dalston cola
( which she couldn't drink )
and i had a flat white ( allegedly )
and we shared three marshmallows.
the one on the left was made from the same tough plastic as the tray
but the other two were nice.

here's a photo i did of robocat when we got back to the restaurant.
it still wasn't ready for us but we busied ourselves taking photos of each other.
did i tell you she's leaving london by the way ?
this was her last week in the uk because she is off to live in shanghai from
friday ( which is today )

in fact she just sent me a photo from her seat on the plane, but seeing as i'm running a few  days behind with this blog it'll be a while tip i show it to you.

er... anyway, this was at the time i thought, the last kind of portrait of her i would do.

after a while we set to work
or rather i started working while she flounced around with my lastolite

oh... here she is doing a decent little job though
stopping the sunlight from flooding through onto the table i was shooting.
good girl !

she was wearing a chain mail kind of dress by the way.
and it was maybe the hottest day of the year.
good girl.

after the shoot i spotted a nice wall on the walk back to the car,
so we decided to shoot what would surely be our last photos together
before she left for china.
i thought this frame was ok but i didn't like the way she was treating finalhome

so...
that's better.

good girl.

then we went our separate ways and i figured i'd never see her again.

tuesday shoes day

i know, i know, but i have to catch up on my missed posts
af-1 work boots and my camera case.
all tough stuff.

last monday

i had a shoot in soho
this is me taking a break to enjoy a sneaky flat white.

afterwards i skulked over to footpatrol
where i posed up in front of the most wretched shoes i could find.

when i got back to whitfield towers some magazines were waiting for me
fair enough.

last saturday

last saturday

i spotted this mosaic version of the ferry crossing to the island i was on the day before
what ?

myself and mrs w found a belting coffee shop called po41 ( i think )
it used to be a post office until a few weeks ago, now it's a cracking coffee shop.
like one you'd discover in new york or in london's soho.

when my friend goober jeff says somebody is 'mutton' it means 'deaf'

i knew that mutton jeff meant deaf, but i never knew it was actually mutt and jeff
hmmm...

this looks fair enough.
me doing my signature n7 pose on a fence
but it was actually a right old wobbly bit of kit and i kept falling off before i could hold my pose.
this was perhaps my 5th attempt.

this one was easier

this one was somewhere between the two

and finally, this one
genius !

catching up

it seems i have some catching up to do.

last friday i went to the away for a few days.
since returning i haven't been very well.

not well enough to blog ?

well... i've been busy and unwell.

anyway, let's start to play catch-up.

this can be last friday's post.

last friday i...

packed my essentials for a trip to an exotic overseas tropical island

the final leg of the journey was by ferry.
it was great for people watching.
and dog watching.

lots of interesting looking people

and dogs

i tried to zoom in on this bloke's tattoos.
they were pretty impressive

take a look at this guy

once again i tried to use the iphone's zoom to check out this lad's sock game.
incredible scenes.

team whitfield sock game was on point.
as was the chocolate caramel slice

i saw these two nans on the ferry. they were sharing a flask of tea and discussing some rave they were dj-ing at later that night.
their bucket game was serious as you can see.

nice hotel.

well, it would have been if it was a hotel.

one of those lads from the lion king

me, enjoying the sunshine on the beautiful sandy beach as the waves come crashing to shore...

*cough

a closer look at my footwear of choice last friday.
liberty x nike air max 1's.
canvas trim, string laces, gum outsole and that hit of orange.
what's not to like ?

( apart from my grammar and punctuation )

final pic from last friday.
when we sat down for our evening meal at the restaurant, the knives and forks were set like this.
i didn't know if that was how they did it on the island or if it was a mistake.

so we sat there wanting to switch them around but wondering if we'd get admonished for doing so.
for fear of looking like tourists we actually ate our meal with knives and forks in the wrong hands.

true story.

ok, it's a lie.
