camo tuesday and winner stays...

hmmm... bit of a late post today so i'll be quick

i know i keep harping on about instagram but honestly. it's good stuff.
hashtag camotuesday.

and follow @markwhitfieldphotography

some new converse i was going to debut on camotuesday this week
but didn't.

it's a long story.

they're skate chucks by the way... chucks with lunarlon insoles.
magic darts !

moving on from converse to nike...

give this full length version of the new nike commercial a whirl.
it's not bad.

it reminds me of being a nipper.
i don't want to show my age but personally i'd always say "i'm cruyff"

behind the scenes and the sock game

just a few pics today from some shoots i did over the past four days.
oh, and a couple of bonus sock pics.

it's difficult to see here but in this portrait shoot, the subject was lit from
the big window on the right of the frame.
i used a small battery light mounted onto my tripod on the left-hand side
just to fill in a little on the side of her face.
the shots i submitted to the client were closer in and shot a couple of paces to my left.
i just took a few paces back and to the side here to show the lighting.

i thought this looked interesting.
me and all my mates having a bite to eat.

the things at the top of the frame are the tentacles of a giant squid.

trying to get some lobsters to look down the lens.
never work with children or lobsters... right ?

oysters though...
oysters are no problem.
they pose up very nicely, looking at the camera the whole time and they keep pretty still.

i tried stance socks for the first time the other day.
these were tube socks.
very comfortable.
a little too white for me, but very nice ankle coverers.

mrs w today.
wearing chups like a boss.

iphone monday ( more paris nonsense )

of course. following on from yesterday's final photo is this gem
boom !

some chewy i bought in paris.
not sure i'll be doing any smiling though.

the breakfast situation at the hotel in paris was not ideal.
a ham and cheese omelette is acceptable but this is how it arrived.
nothing else edible on the side.

i think i showed you the view from the balcony previously.
i guess it was impressive if you like rooftops and you've never been to blackpool.

talking of impressive.
mrs w took this photo of me enjoying the louvre.
enjoying the crowds and not moaning at all.

i think i also showed you the shortbread biscuits at cafe kitsune.
but they're worth a second look i reckon.

maybe even a third look

( alright, that's enough - ed )

the coffee was magic darts.
as were my glorias.

i took this photo of mrs w.

and insisted she return the favour.

oi oi !

a suit i fancied.
( givenchy )

finalhome doing that thing that tourists do.

back home at whitfield towers and putting my feet up for the bank holiday monday
watching holiday on the buses.

perfect !

iphone sunday

more iphone pics i want to share with you before i get back onto proper pics.

riccardo tisci x nike af-1's on the top deck of a no. 17 bus.
like a boss / like a bus

some thank-you cards i spotted in marc jacobs a couple of weeks ago.

another set of cards. this type for gentlemen arranging an evening out.

these would be perfect for sending to people you didn't like who were
getting married. or perhaps people you didn't care for who had just
taken delivery of a baby.

the back of a road sign at the end of my street.
what ?

a magazine i spotted at tallulah in n1 which i thought could
be amended using photoshop to be of some use to sockclub london.

what the what ?!

old ads were crazy.

some model soldiers.
wait a minute... no, they're not soldiers...
model snowboarders !

my bape door-stop / door wedge thing.
hmmm...

the same street sign at the end of my road with a bit of flare.

and now... moving onto my paris iphone pics.

first thing i do when checking into any hotel...
self-portrait in the bathroom mirror.

do you like goyard ?
i must admit, i like the pattern but...

oh, it's a long story, but needless to say the punchline is
that i'm boycotting goyard.

which is a shame... look at the orange case i saw outside their store in paris.
oh well.

window shopping in gay paris.
i like the idea of these rolex bezel bracelets but i guess they are for ladies.

also for ladies ( i hope )
those foul tisci knee-high af-1's still available ( funnily enough )
in colette.

also in colette.
i like camo but...

spending-wise i did pretty well in paris.
i was there for three days and all i bought apart from coffee
and french onion soup was this...
a new addition to my pomade armoury.

looks like somebody left an n7 sticker outside colette.

i met up with a french bloke who i met through instagram.
mrs w took a photo to commemorate the happy occasion and two
stoke newington type women photobombed us.

that's better. as you can see from our smiles, we were a lot happier with
take two, when the "ladies" did the decent thing and hid from the camera.

you know what ? i have too many square iphone pics from paris
and i have work to do.

so i'll pack in here and leave you with this pic.

and the easy question:
what do you think the next photo will be ?

the answer, with more parisian iphone pics, tomorrow.

fin

Saturday 26 April 2014

iphone saturday

just a few odd iphone pics today.

some very tidy socks that came from canada.

doner kebab camo... what's not to like ?

atmos af-1's.
only available from one shop in the world.

i love these old menus. peg boards ?

perhaps my favourite sight on the isle of wight.

a sneaky mirror shot in apostrophe a few saturdays ago.

another mirror shot. trying on a polo shirt at marc jacobs and
not looking too happy about it.

from the top deck of a 38 bus i spotted a couple of jack the lads.
both wearing pastel shade shirts tucked into pale jeans. both wearing puma.
note the lad nearest to me has a spare bottle of beer in each of his back pockets.
he also has a bottle of beer in his left hand and is speaking on his mobile
which he's holding in his right hand.

it's at about this point that they spot two girls on boris bikes.

at this point the jack the lad at the rear decides to check out the two girls.

while still on the phone he makes contact with the girls with a trademark
"oi oi ! "
upon hearing this cry, the lad in the pink shirt turns around.

sadly this was the last photo i took of the scene, which is a shame.
the lad in the blue shirt tried getting on the back of the girl in the
white top's bike... while still holding his beer and phone and with
two bottles of beer in his back pockets.

oh well, it was funny at the time.

talking of time...
i dug this old bape x casio g-shock out for camo tuesday a couple of weeks ago.

camo tuesday is an instagram thing.
