arsenal 1 wigan 2

arsenal v wigan on monday evening was my favourite home game of the season.

i was in thailand when man utd came to the emirates and although
the spurs game was good, i would have to say i enjoyed wigan's visit more.

there are a few reasons for this:

1. wigan are the closest premier league team to where i grew up in the north of england.
2. wigan is famous for it's pies. i love pies.
3. i bet gooner jeff £5 before the game that wigan would win.
4. although i have no beef with arsenal, i do feel that they are extremely lucky to be in
3rd place in the premiership and i felt that they were in need of a bit of a lesson...
you know, to show the fans that seriously, theo is no good, ramsey is not up to it.
chelsea let benayoun go on loan for a reason, van persie doesn't "score when he wants"
the defence is pretty shambolic, there is no strength on the bench, nobody calling the                     shots on the field, no team leader if you will... oh and when arteta goes off, somebody else has to take the corner kicks.

well would you adam and eve it ?
wigan went 2-0 up within the first 10 minutes.
the whole of the north bank went silent...

... apart from one bloke celebrating alone, surrounded by arsenal fans
i had to slip a mosaic mask over my mouth in the interests of blog safety
as it appears that i was actually smiling here

in fact i'd go so far as to say that i was positively grinning !

football eh ?

( note that i am celebrating with a good old northern thumbs up while gooner jeff
is behind me indicating how many goals arsenal have conceded )
